My Ethnic-Sounding Name

I made this blog a while back and as I did it fairly quickly, without thinking too much about it, I just made put my own name on it. Not only was this very unoriginal, but given that people have misspelled (and mispronounced!) my name my whole life, I probably should have known better.

Ah well. Forgive my crazy ethnic-sounding name. 😉

With the old URL, not only would finding this blog prove near impossible, but the chances of anyone spelling my name correctly were slim to none. In addition to it being difficult to spell, it was also excessively long, as I included all three of my names. So not good on all accounts.

It was , but I’d be very impressed if anyone remembered how to spell that…

On the other hand, Aliya means “exalted one” in Arabic, so I guess it’s not so bad after all. 🙂

    Hi Ailya,
Thanks for sharing the story of your name. It has a beautiful lyric quality, but I understand the ramifications of long domains and urls!
I guess this means you are an exalted blogger:)
    Keep up the great posts!

    Hi Drue,

Thanks , I’m glad you like it!
I may write more about its origins later on.

    Hope you’re well!
